mother's milk
In the summer of 2016, larryjean powell (fka Larry Powell) wrote a play and sent it to their artistic community as a call-to-action to combat injustice. In response, filmmakers across the nation joined forces to build the panels of this “film quilt.”
Mother’s Milk is the result—an experimental, deeply collaborative exploration of that play on screen. A cinematic collage about legacy, lineage, and the quiet ache of intergenerational memory. Musical, meditative, and emotionally charged, Mother’s Milk is a prayer in motion.
